On a typical day, approximately 70 commercial and eight cargo flights take off from Stewart International Airport in New Windsor, N.Y. Each year, nearly 800,000 passengers are transported to regional locations where they can connect with trans-continental flights. With 1,900 acres, including a buffer zone of trees and meadows, Stewart might seem isolated from the surrounding community.
